Jude at 9 months

20 June 2020

It was hard to limit myself to just these seven photos of our fat little Jude. At nine months old and probably some 25lbs or more, our Jude is a crazy, cute, and cantankerous little man. We are all obsessed with babies in our house and just can not get enough of this guy. Despite his destructive ways, he continues to be the most popular member of our family.

Jude's favourite activities are many, and include (in no particular order): picking and eating grass (see 3rd & 4th pics above), eating food off the floor or his highchair after a meal, eating pencil crayons and paper, eating anything he gets his hands on, wrecking MagnaTile structures, pulling his sister's hair, hitting his sister, switching the buttons on the organ amp, emptying cupboards, playing with the potty, charging for the stairs, playing football and especially touchdown cheers (see 2nd pic above), crawling at high speed around the house,  going for walks, baths, swinging in swings, dancing, singing the Salve Regina, nursing (especially at night), cuddling with his mommy (*just kidding* this boy does not cuddle), watching birds, playing with Grandpa's toothpick, FaceTime with his Ontario Grandparents.

He runs our life and we're pretty sure he's proud of this fact.

Joseph's Confirmation & First Holy Communion

19 June 2020

We were really thrilled for Joseph to be able to receive his Confirmation and First Holy Communion last week, June 12th. Originally, we had planned to have him receive his sacraments at the Latin Mass in Saskatoon. But when covid shut down everything, it was indefinitely postponed. Then, the bishop of Saskatoon gave all his priests faculties to administer Confirmation and Dan's priest brother, Fr Darryl, graciously offered to have a small family Mass and give Joseph and his cousin, Catherine (our god-daughter) their sacraments. Deo Gratias!

It was a longed-for and beautiful day. We had not been to Mass since the Feast of St Joseph on March 19th. Thus, it was extra special to attend Mass for the first time and receive Jesus for the first (and first in months) time. Joseph had been preparing for and looking forward to this day for several years. Emilie asked him afterwards: "Are you holy now, Joseph?" And his smile said it all. What a wonderful day!

Emilie Turns 4

18 June 2020

It's hard to believe this little lady is four!

Emilie is sweet and sour. She has a loving, adorable side and a whiny, escalating temper side. She organizes her clothes, but leaves collections of things everywhere. She smiles and cries and screams. She's an extrovert that has difficulty with afternoon quiet time or covid-induced staying home. Some of her favourite things include colouring, drawing circles, playing games, reading books, filling in all the empty colouring pages in her big brother's school books, making "cakes" with pattern blocks, baking with mommy, watering plants, visiting Grandpa and Grandma, having "birthday parties" for everyone in the family, and collecting stuff.
